Deep tissue massage

Executed to assist your body in releasing pain, tension, or stiffness, this form of massage works directly on layers of muscle and surrounding fascia to facilitate relaxation.

You will benefit from a session tailored to your personal needs! Lauren will listen to your goals and symptoms and plan a session accordingly.

Calling upon her knowledge of anatomy, years of experience, ability to feel deeply, Lauren blends deep tissue, Swedish, myofascial release, Tui Na, trigger point therapy, and craniosacral therapy to provide you with a holistic and pleasant treatment.

Deep tissue massage is performed on a massage table. The client's modesty is respected with proper draping. Arnica-infused massage oil is used.

How often should I get a massage?

Well, it depends on your intentions and goals! Remember, massage sessions have cumulative  benefits because your nervous system gets used to routine.

For stress relief and anxiety, I recommend coming in at least every 3-6 weeks. This will create a regular routine of self-care that you can look forward to. Getting into this rhythm will have a cumulative benefit because each time your body gets on the table, it will relax more and more deeply as it develops familiarity with the sensations of the massage. You will get used to my touch and I will get used to your body. I will be able to work more specifically to your needs with each session.

For acute symptoms or injury recovery, I recommend coming every 1-2 weeks. With this level of frequency, I have found tension patterns can be addressed and released before they become permanent and solidified. These regular, specific massages provide much needed, beneficial blood flow as well as tissue reorganization when an area is healing.
